Family Wall Planner ("the app") is a shared family planner for a wall tablet and companion
phones. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how to remove it. The short version:
your family's data is used only to run your family's planner — never sold, never used
for ads, never shared with third parties.
What we collect
Account basics. When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email
address, and profile picture to create your account.
Household content. Events, tasks, lists, notes, meal plans, and member
names/colors you add are stored in our secure cloud database (hosted in the US) so your family's
devices stay in sync.
Waitlist. If you join the waitlist we store the email you submit, used
only to email you about early access.
Diagnostics. If the app hits an error, it sends us a crash report (the
error message, app version, device type, and screen size — never your calendar, tasks, or
files) so we can find and fix problems.
Google Calendar data
If you connect Google Calendar, the app requests access to your calendars to provide
two-way sync with one family calendar you choose: events you add in the app are
created on that Google calendar, and that calendar's events are shown on your wall planner. To
keep sync working while the tablet is asleep, we store a copy of synced events in our database
and an OAuth refresh token encrypted at rest in a secrets vault. We never read
calendars you don't select, never modify events outside the connected calendar, and never share
calendar data with anyone.
Google Drive data
If you connect Google Drive, the app uses the narrow drive.file permission —
it can only see files you explicitly pick or files the app itself creates
(family photos for the ambient slideshow and documents you attach). Your files stay in your own
Google Drive; we do not copy them to our servers.
Limited Use disclosure. Family Wall Planner's use and transfer of information
received from Google APIs adheres to the
Google API Services
User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used only to
provide the app's user-facing features, is never sold, never used for advertising, and never
transferred to third parties except as necessary to provide the service or comply with law.
What we don't do
No selling or renting of personal data, ever.
No advertising and no ad-tracking.
No use of your data to train AI models.
No reading of Google data beyond the scopes above.
Storage & security
Data is stored in a managed Postgres database with row-level security, so each household can only
access its own data. Google OAuth tokens are stored encrypted in a dedicated secrets vault.
All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
Deleting your data
Disconnect Google: in the app under More → Google Calendar / Google
Drive, or revoke access at
myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Disconnecting deletes our stored tokens.
Delete your household data: email
s.morrissey86@gmail.com from your account email
and we'll delete your household and account data within 30 days.
Waitlist: every email includes an opt-out, or write to the address above.
Children
Accounts are for adults; kids appear only as names/colors that a parent adds. We do not
knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
Changes
We'll post any changes to this policy on this page and update the effective date. Material
changes will be announced in the app or by email.
